Back to the 90s with my teething cam
There is a time in your life when you pick up a camera and have a hard time deciding whether it’s a dog toy, or a baby teething toy, or the most expensive camera you can currently afford.
The latter would be me.
… the classifieds section in the paper isn’t what it used to be.
So, what do you do when the base resolution of your new camera is VGA from the 90s, and the most expensive part is a used 4gig micro sd card you found in another camera (so what if it was in a camera sitting next to someone’s purse at a coffee shop – it WAS abandoned for 30 seconds or more. That qualifies for needing a new home, right?)
Back to the teething cam. I was at least lucky enough to get one that wasn’t pre-soaked with baby spit. Actually the first one I picked up had parts moving around in it, so I assume it was pre-teethed and testing failed.
Supposedly this beauty that I could afford does 3mpix images …. although the first ones I took only came to 640×480, which was perfect to mix with my collection of photos from my actual 1990s key chain cams (the only other cameras I can afford).
A friend of mine mentioned the idea of maybe doing a gofundme to see if I can get donations for a real camera so I can someday become an actual photographer. It seems wrong to me. I don’t like working beyond my means … especially with other people’s money.
Hmmm ….
